    Broadfence Silt Fence is a geotextile sediment barrier built to control runoff on active construction sites and support erosion and sediment control compliance requirements.
    The permeable fabric works by letting water pass through while trapping suspended sediment behind the barrier. That keeps soil on the site instead of washing into storm drains, watercourses, and neighbouring property during rain events, which is the outcome most ESC conditions are written to achieve.
    ESC is a compliance matter as much as an environmental one. Many jurisdictions mandate sediment control on active sites, and a failed or absent silt fence is a common trigger for a stop-work order or fine. Installing a specified barrier at the start of a project is considerably cheaper than remediating a sediment discharge after the fact.
